• The principal of West ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ when it opened in 1950 was WA Porter.

• The building was originally 23,285 square feet.

• After 6 additions over the years, the total square footage is now 67,052 square feet on a total of 8.83 acres.

• In 2014, ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Independent School District voters approved a $163.2 million bond package.  Money was allocated for the construction of a new West ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ campus which opened during the 2016-2017 school year.

• On Thursday, March 26, ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ’s Board of Trustees unanimously voted to change the name of The Academy at West ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ back to the original campus name of West ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Elementary School.

• The New West ²ÝÁñÊÓƵ Elementary Campus, funded by the 2016 Bond, opened in August, 2016.
